Here you see several props I built for the Berkeley Repertory Theatre's production of "Fuente de Ovahuna", by Lopa de Vega.
This was summer of 1990.
The bell was fiberglass with extra weight added around the lower rim to make it swing better. The weight was a mix of lead shot and bondo.
The cart was built from scratch, except for the wheels.
The Crossbow was to be fired during the show so it is in fact a modern Barnett crossbow hidden inside a fake stock. That way we had all the safety features. We made a very weak bow for it. It was eventually cut from the show...oh well.
The saddle was a fun bit of leatherwork.
The shackles were only supposed to be costume, but I made them quite functional. The hinges are riveted leather.
